Terms of Service

Effective date: 5 September 2026

These terms govern your use of antikdress.com and purchases from it. The shop is operated by ROOTPAW LTD, trading as ANTIKDRESS, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16420031) with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (contact@antikdress.com).

By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and accept these terms.

1. Our products

We sell vintage-inspired formalwear: Rococo and Victorian-style gowns made to order. Please read the listing carefully:

  • Made to order: your gown is prepared for you after you place your order. Every piece is handmade; small variations in trim placement and finish are part of its character.
  • Sizing: each gown is available in standard sizes XS–5XL (see the size guide) or made to your measurements (the custom option). Because our gowns are hand-measured and hand-sewn, finished measurements may vary by 2–3 cm from the size chart.
  • Colour: we calibrate our photography carefully, but screens differ and minor colour variation between your screen and the physical garment is possible.

2. Orders and payment

  • Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
  • An order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email you that the item has been dispatched. Until then we may decline an order (for example a listing error), with any payment refunded in full.
  • For custom (made-to-measure) orders, please double-check the measurements you submit — your gown is cut to them. Custom orders enter tailoring after payment and cannot be cancelled once placed (see the Returns Policy; your rights for faulty items are unaffected).

3. Prices

Displayed prices are in US dollars and are the final product prices — we do not add sales tax or VAT at checkout. Shipping is calculated and shown at checkout.

4. Delivery

  • Items are dispatched internationally from our overseas dispatch facility. Estimated delivery is 10–15 days for standard sizes, depending on destination. Custom (made-to-measure) orders need an additional 3–5 days for tailoring before dispatch. Estimates are honest but not guaranteed; customs inspection can add delay.
  • Customs: orders cross an international border. Any customs duties or import taxes assessed by the destination country are the recipient's responsibility.
  • Risk passes to you on delivery to the address you gave us.

5. Returns

Our Returns Policy governs returns: 14 days from delivery, items in original condition, buyer pays return postage, refunds to the original payment method. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

6. Intellectual property

Site content (photography, text, design) belongs to ROOTPAW LTD and may not be reused without written permission. Garment photographs show the actual garment design on sale.

7. Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA, you have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (and equivalent EEA rules), and rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if goods are faulty or not as described. Our Returns Policy explains how to exercise these rights. These terms do not take away any statutory right you have.

8. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of your own country of residence, and you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of that country.

10. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. We may update these terms; the version on the site when you order applies to that order. Questions: contact@antikdress.com.
